About the Item

Bookcase from mid-century Italy. This piece is made of Mahogany wood construction with an upright design. There are several shelves for functionality and one cupboard that has an ebonized front. The cupboard opens up with a brass key and lock and has a drop front. This piece is in excellent vintage condition – the photos accurately depict the condition. Originating in the 1950s-1960s, the Mid-Century Modern movement was based on functionality, simplicity, and an organic elegance. Many designers of the period championed the concept that good design could be for everyone.
