About the Item
Small walnut open book shelf clearly executed by a fan of Gio Ponti and his designs for the University of Padua, with its asymmetrical structure and half-harlequin motif. Tapered legs with brass capped feet. Ideal book size is a National Geographic or Reader's Digest, also DVDs and VHS tapes and bottom shelf can hold large art books etc. Very similar to a design by Ignazio Gardella. See DOMUS 282 (Maggio 1953) p. 43
