Beautifully handcrafted and excellent condition Gothic bookcase. We are always on the lookout for top quality carved and handcrafted Gothic Revival antiques and to have found a bookcase more than made our day. Bookcases are and have always been the most sought after pieces of antique furniture and we hardly ever find them in the Gothic style. This stunning example with its richly carved, church window like panels, its striking iron lock plates and its amazing patina could not be in a better condition. Besides being an absolute joy to own and look at, this cabinet also is highly practical. The four shelves behind the two outer doors are all adjustable in height and both doors open and shut perfectly. There is one large shelve behind the smaller doors which can be taken out also, but that one shelve is at a fixed height. The insides of all compartments also are in excellent condition and this solid oak bookcase is as strong and stabile as the day it left the artisan's studio, which was about one hundred years ago. Because of its size and design this remarkable cabinet can be used for all kinds of purposes and in the open space in the middle you could also have picture frames or religious artefacts on display. No matter where you decide to place this Gothic work of art and no matter what you decide to use it for, this cabinet will never fail to attract attention.
