About the Item

19th Century Very Large Mahogany Glazed Display Cabinet. A rare piece of exceptional quality that is increasingly hard to find. Made mostly of solid mahogany the main carcass and drawer fronts are mahogany and the inner carcass is pitch pine. The cabinet is made in two pieces, the base and the top. splitting just above the drawer section. The base features all the original drawers and brassware, the top has three massive glass doors and inside are fully adjustable shelves sitting on the original cast metal brackets. Our workshop has carefully serviced the cabinet, the drawers run well and the cabinet doors swing out well. Please note this is an exceptionally heavy piece, the glass in the top is 6mm plate glass and opening all three doors at the same time might cause the cabinet to topple forward so we recommend the cabinet is in some way secured to a wall for safety. English furniture at its finest. Small drawer internal dimensions: 66x48x7 cm. Large drawer internal dimensions: 66x47x18 cm. Glass Shelves: Bottom Shelf: L27 W206 cm, Top Shelf: L20 W206 cm. Workshop Report: Our workshop team inspect every product and carry out any needed repairs to ensure that everything leaves us serviced and maintained ready for many more years of life. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use and we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible.
