About the Item
A charming and compact Art Deco cabinet in richly toned Sapele and flame mahogany, dating to the 1930s. This piece combines elegant proportions with period detailing, including original Bakelite handles and bold bookmatched grain to the doors.
The cabinet features an open upper section above a double-door cupboard, which opens to reveal shelved interior storage. The corners are canted and fluted, lending architectural structure to the form. A subtle carved frieze runs along the plinth, adding Deco character.
Original phenolic Bakelite handles and a working lock with key complete the piece. Perfect for use as a drinks cabinet, book cupboard, or tidy hallway storage.
