Biedermeier Vitrine Cabinet in Fruitwood & Ebonized Detail, Germany, circa 1825

About the Item

19th century German Biedermeier vitrine on cabinet base in fruitwood with ebonized and gilt accents. The display case with architectural pediment, fronted by glass panels with flanking ebonized columns and three drawers rests atop the lower cabinet supported by splayed feet in corresponding design. The ebonized columns flanking each section feature gilt bronze capitals and bases. Additional painted accents border both cases and provide a striking contrast with the pale fruitwood exterior.
