A Chinese antique side cabinet from the early 20th century with brown lacquer, carved panels, gilded accents, hidden drawers and brass hardware. Created in China during the early years of the 20th century, this side cabinet features a rectangular top with central planked boards, sitting above an elegant façade made of two doors. These doors are adorned with carved panels in their upper section, showcasing scrolling furniture on which various vases are displayed. These motifs, carved in low relief, are surrounded by a gilded frame contrasting beautifully with their reddish brown lacquer. The doors, made of slightly raised panels in their lower section, are fitted with ornate brass hardware: the medallion is pierced and etched and supports delicate pulls. These doors open to reveal a lacquered interior with hidden drawers at the top. The cabinet's sides presents recessed panels and the back is simply planked.
