Large Elmwood Dark Lacquer Cabinet with Brass Hardware and Carved Apron

About the Item

This tall elm wood cabinet combines bold simplicity with refined detail, offering both practical storage and visual presence. The linear silhouette is finished in a rich dark lacquer that deepens the natural grain of the wood, giving the piece a sense of quiet depth. Two large doors form the focal point, framed with circular brass hinges and centered by a substantial brass medallion with teardrop handles—a traditional closure that adds sculptural contrast to the otherwise restrained façade. Inside, shelves provide generous storage space, making it ideal for organizing linens, serving pieces, or wardrobe essentials. The inner surface of the doors bears a subtly aged patina, adding character without detracting from the cabinet’s clean lines. Beneath, four drawers offer additional concealed storage, each fitted with brass c-scroll handles on circular backplates. The base is finished with a pierced and carved apron, rendered in a scrolling floral motif that introduces a delicate rhythm to the grounded structure. Recessed panels along the sides add a touch of dimension, while the unadorned back allows for flexible placement against a wall. Whether used in an entryway to store outerwear and accessories, in a bedroom as a wardrobe, or in a living or dining room to house household essentials, this elm wood cabinet is a timeless solution for organized living. Its scale, symmetry, and interplay of texture and materials lend a sense of quiet elegance to both traditional and contemporary interiors. Two cabinets currently available, priced and sold individually.
