About the Item
Fine pair of 1960's black lacquered cabinets with a design influenced by the work of the illustrious American designer James Mont. Mont was renowned for assimilating elements of classical, orientalist, and Art Deco design into a modern sensibility - a style he termed "Chinese Modern." Each cabinet boasts bifold doors opening to interior storage space, resting on a rectilinear base with tapered chow legs. Contrasting the black lacquered surface are uniquely shaped original brass pulls. There are no visible maker’s marks but of high-quality construction. Each exquisite cabinet has been completely restored in a black lacquer finish but can be polished in a high gloss finish, inquire for details. A versatile size, ideal for use as dry bar cabinet, sideboard or buffet server. Super sexy one of a kind pieces delivering glamour and high style flawlessly to a variety of interiors—Modernist, Hollywood Regency, or even Art Deco.
