A Qing Dynasty Period 19th Century Carrying Chest with Lateral Handles

About the Item

A Chinese Qing Dynasty period antique carrying chest from the 19th century, with ornate patinated brass floral-shaped hardware, two doors and lateral handles. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty, this carrying chest features a rectangular top sitting above an elegant façade boasting great character. Two simple doors are fitted with ornate patinated brass hardware shaped as a large lotus flower. These doors open to reveal a brown stained interior presenting inner shelves and two hidden drawers in the lower section. The sides showcase linear carrying handles on floral backplates while the back is, of course, more distressed. The ensemble is resting on a thin plinth with discreetly carved accents.
