Rare Victorian Haberdashery Apothecary Shops Cabinet Fully Glazed Door Bookcase

About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning extremely rare original mid Victorian Apothecary or Haberdashery cabinet This is a rare cabinet, a very rare survivor, highly collectable, with all original water glass and thick glass shelves. The shelf brackets are all removable and fully height adjustable, glazed to the side as well to allow light in from all angles, this would be the worlds coolest display cabinet or a very decorative bookcase It naturally splits into two very easy to transport pieces, it is very heavy as the glass is exceptionally thick We have cleaned waxed and polished it, the glass has been razor edge cleaned. There are some rough edges to the glass shelves, some chips and some curved sections in the back look to have been rough cut out on purpose although I’m not sure why. I can have them safety polished, replaced if the new owner wishes for cost price however I have left them as they because they are original and perfectly good. Something is only ever original once Dimensions: Height 230.5cm, top section 154cm, base 77.5cm Width 132.5cm Depth 37.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
