A Spanish Walnut Vargueno, 18th Century
Provenance:
From the private collection of Fernando Bernaldo Fernandez, Seville.
Description:
The walnut vargueno with a simple fall front, dove tail hinges and pierced iron hatch lock, opening to reveal interior comprising seven frame panelled drawers, three short drawers of equal proportion to the right, a central vertical drawer centred by a carved floral in high relief and two further short drawers to the left above a paper drawer, all but the central door centred by a knopped wooden handle, the corners of the case mounted with iron brackets, raised atop bun feet.
