Swedish Modern 1950s Mahogny Cabinet with Nordens Flora (Nordic Flowers) Decor
About the Item
This is the Swedish Modern mahogny cabinet decorated with antique floral lithographs in Josef Frank style, manufactured 1954.
It comes with clear coat mahogany veneered top, doors and sides decorated with pages from an antique botanical encyclopedia, "Pictures of Nordic Flowers", from Wahlström & Widstrand, Stockholm, 1905.
There are two doors hiding two drawers and four movable shelves.
The locker works and a key is included.
A truly elegant cabinet!
The illustrations are painted 1901-1905 by Carl Axel Magnus Lindman, professor of botany at the Museum of Nature History in Stockholm.
Printed by Isaac Marcus Printing Company in 1905.

- Condition:Additions or alterations made to the original: The cabinet is later professionally decorated with pages from an antique Swedish botanical encyclopedia, printed 1905. This piece of furniture is not originally manufactured with this decor. It is an old cabinet with a new face! Repaired: The old, dried varnish on the top is stripped off. New varnish has been applied in several layers. Shellac and the French polishing method have been used. Wear consistent with age and use. Solid and stable frame. Beautiful shiny top.
