About the Item
If you love the unusual and unique, this French “Lit-clos” will be a hit in your home. Handmade of chestnut, this is a regional piece from Brittany, France. Its original use was as a recessed bed, however this piece has been revised in order to be used as a bookcase or kitchen display cabinet. The top sits over a wide trunk offering lots of storage. The entire piece is hand-carved with typical Brittany motifs and brass tacks. The carvings represent flowers, hearts, leaves, and other decorative forms. Perfect for a kitchen, hallway, or mudroom. Lots of storage in the trunk.
