About the Item

Chest of drawers hand-made in Italy in the early 1700s using walnut, and decorated with walnut cross-banded veneer and mahogany inlaid veneer. The chest of drawers features three inset drawers, all showing beautiful hand-made dovetail joints. The top is decorated by cross banded veneer and shows in the center a gorgeous star inlay, that is repeated on the sides and on each drawer front. The star is framed by a simple linear mahogany veneer. The sides are inset and framed by veneered flat molding, whereas the drawers are inset and the bracket feet are hand-carved. Overall this is a beautiful, old, and very well build chest of drawers. The light color given by the bleaching process gives it a rustic look and I think it would look great in a ranch house or mountain cabin. This is most definitely a one-of-a-kind piece that will add warmth, style, decoration and storage to any home.
