Hello, We would like to offer you this truly exquisite, early Biedermeier walnut commode. The piece was made in Vienna circa 1825. Viennese Biedermeier is distinguished by their sophisticated proportions, rare and refined design and excellent craftsmanship and continue to have a great influence on modern design. The convex three lower drawers set between ebonized columns with gilded elements emphasizes the elegant character of this rare piece. Top drawer has a flat front. The commode have beautiful highly figured walnut veneer with lovely light deep amber color and 200 years old patina. The brass hardware and locks are original. The original key and locks work. Pieces of such quality as this large, exceptional Viennese Biedermeier commode are very rare and hard to find. The commode is set on graceful, high block legs that give it an elegant lightness. Lovely highly figured book matched walnut veneer is just gorgeous. This commode is an absolutely museum quality piece of furniture from early Viennese Biedermeier period. The chest will be a great complement to any elegant interior. It does not matter whether it is a classic or modern interior because Biedermeier is simply timeless.
