19th century, small Russian chest of drawers, veneered, with gilded bronzes This high-quality, small chest of drawers was made of wood veneered , in the first half of the 19th century, in a typical Russian style between the Louis XVI and the Empire epoque. The cabinet has two drawers whose front is decorated with gilded bronze reserves, gilded bronze handles, chiseled with cascante ribbon pattern, and locks vents in gilded bronze finely chiselled. The upper band has a large frame in perforated gilded metal, with geometric motifs, which runs along the sides and frontally. At the centre, the frame is interrupted to show applications, in gilded bronze, with three six-pointed stars and two profiles of classic taste: on the right a man with helmet and armour, on the left a woman with helmet-shaped face. They are the Greek gods Ares and Athena, both gods of war. Ares, son of Zeus and Hera is god of the most violent aspects of war and struggle understood as bloodlust. Homer describes him as unreliable, humorous, bloody and belligerent, in contrast to his sister Athena, who in war has strategy and control. Athena, born from the head of Zeus already formed and armed, is the virgin goddess of intelligence, cunning and wisdom, of military strategy and peace, as well as of the manual arts. This refinen chest of drawers rests on four legs. The rear legs are straight, with an inverted pyramid, with golden bronze tips. The front two sabre-shaped legs have gilded bronze decorations and gilded bronze-shaped feet. This small drawer is suitable to be inserted in different environments of your home. Its size makes it suitable in the living room, study, entrance and even in the bedroom or in a bathroom. Its line and decorations give it a pleasant decoration that lends itself well alongside modern furnishings, such as antique furnishings. Good state of preservation.

18th century, Italian Policrome Lacquered Wood Chest of Drawers This small and elegant chest of drawers was made in Genoa, northern Italy, around the middle of the eighteenth century. This model of dresser is inspired by the models that spread in France in the Louis XV period and to which all the cabinet makers were immediately inspired. It consists of four drawers, of which two smaller upper. It has a wooden structure entirely lacquered in light ocre decorated with floral and foliate decorations and compositions of still life of fruit in shades of red. The handles and mouthpieces of the locks are in finely chiseled burnished bronze, typical of the Louis XV era. The molded top is in Rosso Francia marble, a marble from abroad that at the time was very precious and expensive. The dresser has the front and the sides moved by the move line, legs thin and slightly curved. The front legs are embellished with burnished bronze chiseled tips shaped like acanthus leaf. This piece of furniture is quite rare because of its small size that make it easy to fit into any environment.
