Antique American Classical Mahogany Chest Drawers Dresser Commode New York 1830
About the Item
A fine antique flame mahogany American Classical period chest of drawers/dresser, Mid Atlantic States, Baltimore or New York, circa 1830.
This is a very fine quality classical period dresser in the nicest condition one could hope for!
Made from the very best figured flame mahogany, the top is fitted with two short bow-fronted drawers, below is a single wide ogee shaoped front drawer, all the drawers are fitted with the original bun shaped pulls. The base with three graduated drawers with canted fronts, the drawers are flanked by a pair of columns mounted with compressed Corinthian capitals, the dresser is raised on ring-turned feet with large ball feet. Each of the drawers has the original lock and brass lock escutcheon, key is present.
The dresser is in excellent antique condition, original finish and provides lots of useful storage, the inside of the drawers are clean & aroma free, this very elegant antique American chest of drawers is ready to grace your space.

A fine antique American Empire carved mahogany drop leaf table, New York, circa 1825.
The table is made from the finest flame mahogany & having two drop leaves with curved skirts that are supported by butterfly bracket supports, the table having a deeply carved turned baluster shaped pedestal with four curved legs. Both the pedestal & legs are deeply carved with acanthus leaf decoration, each leg terminates to a substantial lion's paw foot and each is raised on the original brass castor.
This is a period table from the first quarter of the 1800s not a later revival piece from the late 1800s. Some Empire furniture can be heavy & bulky, this table is very elegant and displays the skill of the early 19th century...

A good & substantial antique French Lyonnaise carved walnut Provincial three drawer commode chest, in the Regence style, Lyon, France, circa 1730.
The commode being of serpentine form and having three large drawers, each drawer is carved with Rococo scrolls and shell motifs, the drawers with gilt bronze handles and escutcheons. The commode is raised on short cabriole feet, as is common with these chests from Lyon, they are larger in size and have plenty of drawer space for storage. The drawers run smooth, clean and free from aroma and ready to store clothes or bedding, the chest is in good condition and is ready to grace your home.
