Antique French Louis XIV Commode ~ Chest of Drawers
About the Item
Antique French Louis XIV Commode ~ Chest of Drawers is a great choice for adding timeless style with superb functionality to any room! handcrafted from solid quarter-sawn oak, even on the back side, it was literally designed to last for centuries. The beveled plank top features a subtle bowed front, the shape of which is continued in the casework below which was fitted with three spacious drawers. Each drawer facade is lavished with hand carved molding detail festooned with stylized foliates and floral sprays. Each drawer is also centered with a heavy, finely cast brass pull. The elegantly scrolled apron below features carved detail that complements the drawers, and is fitted to pediment style feet for a look that is as sturdy as it looks. Chamfered panels on the sides ensure this piece is handsome no matter what angle from which it is viewed.
