Breathtaking Art Deco Commode by Donald Deskey with Unique Hardware, circa 1935

This magnificent chest is shipped as professionally photographed and described in the listing narrative: Completely installation ready. A magnificent example from a rare case series designed by the esteemed Donald Deskey for Widdicomb, circa 1935. Fabulous asymmetrical four (4) drawer mahogany case construction finished in black lacquer. The case back is executed in black lacquer. Drawer fronts veneered in bookmatched black walnut. The original chrome over solid brass hardware has miraculously aged to create a unique Masion Jansen style dual metal effect. An absolutely majestic piece of jewelry. A stunning focal point intended to establish the tone for an important room. The chest is shipped completely installation ready. Excellent restored condition. Professionally cleaned a re-lacquered in black lacquer. The drawer fronts have been professionally refinished, the walnut demonstrates incredible movement, warmth and depth. The hardware has been professionally hand polished and displays lovely patina. Retains the maker mark.
