Continental 19th Century Biedermeier St. Butler’s Desk/Commode

About the Item

An exceptional and unique Continental 19th century Biedermeier st. flamed Mahogany, ebonized Fruitwood, and ormolu butler's desk/commode. The eight drawer chest is raised by square feet below the straight apron. At the center are four drawers showcasing the stunning flamed Mahogany grains which span across each drawer showcasing the superb and most decorative wood grain. The four drawers display circular ormolu keyhole escutcheons with pierced foliate keyhole covers with Greenman like masks. The top drawers pull out and the top flaps down using all its original hardware to reveal a writing surface with four additional smaller drawers with fine ormolu pull and beautiful pierced ebonized Fruitwood baluster designed sides. The top and sides display an elegant French polish finish also showcasing the beautiful wood grain.
