A fine and rare circa 1730 English early George II period small scale dressing or bachelor's chest, the walnut veneered case having bookmatched quarter-veneered and featherbanded top with a molded edge above a brushing slide and four long graduated drawers with satinwood featherband inlay borders and stamped brass hardware, raised on original bracket feet. Provenance: Previously sold through Kentshire Galleries, New York, New York, and a Christie's New York 'Important English Furniture' sale in 2001; private Connecticut collection thence.

18th century, Italian walnut wood bureau chest of drawer This bureau chest of drawer was made in Emilia, in Italy, at the beginning of the 18th century. The structure is entirely paved in the precious wood essence of walnut and walnut root. The upper portion has a door that opens to the fore to show inside a compartment divided into six drawers.
