About the Item
This 4-drawer chest is a handmade reproduction of the French Directoire style at the end of the 18th century. It is offered in solid French cherry and is also available in oak.
The front of the top drawer is worked as if there were several small drawers, but there is only one large drawer.
The top drawer has 2 removable interior dividers to create compartments.
Drawer fronts open with lens knobs and reinforced with dovetails for more strength and durability.
Inner dimensions of each drawer are width: 74 cm / 29.1" x height 12 cm / 4.7" x depth 30 cm / 11.8"
The finish is a classic cherry “D” stain, and the top drawer fluting is finished with a natural varnish.
The finish of every GONTIER cabinet is customizable. You can choose the wood stains and colors you prefer in our color chart (see the last picture) 4

This chest of drawers is part of the DIRECTOIRE collection which takes up the style of the same name recognized worldwide and dating from the end of the 18th century in France.
This range is characterized by straight, sober and timeless lines, sometimes enhanced with decorative motifs such as grooves, fluting, diamonds or Louis XVI rings for the drawers.
GONTIER
is a cabinetmaker's furniture brand established since 1920 in Mayenne, France. It now belongs to the French company MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANÇAIS. The manufacture of each piece of furniture remains artisanal, 100% French and of very high quality.
Solid wood comes from sustainably managed French forests, except for walnut from USA.
We offer a 5 year warranty on every piece of furniture. As proof of their authenticity and uniqueness, our furniture is burnt with a "G" hallmark.

MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS is a new brand launched in September 2018 by Eric Weiler (founder) and Eric Gizard (designer). We deliver 100% made in France high-end and top quality furniture pieces. Main material is wood, mainly ash, oak and cherry. Our wood comes exclusively from sustainably managed French forests. The craft-handed manufacture in the Loire Countryside and Bretagne ensures robustness and a very long life cycle for each piece. All our models are already fully assembled in our workshops. Eric Gizard is a famous French Designer in Paris and works several Fashion and Luxury Brands. He sublimates with his very fluid and elegant design each piece of our collections EGEE and KUBE. More over and previous to the launch of MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS, in 2010, Eric Weiler took over an old cabinet-maker named GONTIER established in France since 1920. French Traditional pieces and new designed models from GONTIER are also proposed on 1st Dibs.
