About the Item
A French pair of raised three-drawer side chests from the mid-20th century. These antique commodes from France each feature a graceful serpentine shaped front and curvy sides, with rear being spread wider than frontside. The fruit wood is complimented beautifully with burl wood veneers adorning the top, sides, and drawer fronts. The case houses three drawers, each fitted with a pair of knob pulls. These chests have scallop carved skirts and are presented upon long, cabriole style legs. Note that there are some minor flaws and a small indentation on the top of one of the cabinets- please see additional images for further detail on condition. This pair of French serpentine side chests, with their elegant curves and high legs, will be lovely flanking a sofa or seating arrangement.

An American wood-carved raised side chest with drawers, circa 1960's. This mid-century commode was created "from the work rooms and show rooms of Greenbaun Interiors" and is a very well made piece. It features a rectangular-shaped top with ebony inlay in the center and accenting the perimeter edges, atop a case which houses a pair of stacked drawers set between fluted side posts. The ebony trim continues on to the drawer fronts, outlining the panels, on diamond accents found along the skirt on either side, and wrapping the feet. This chest is presented on four squared legs, which taper gently towards their feet.
