Italian 18th century Venetian st. hand painted commode

About the Item

A wonderfully decorative Italian 18th century Venetian st. hand painted commode. This wonderful rectangular two drawer chest is raised by four square tapered patinated wood legs with olive-green patinated edges below the straight apron with the same olive-green color. Above the apron are the two finely detailed hand painted drawers with a central Bronze escutcheon and two circular pulls on either side. Each drawer is edged with a laurel vine that surrounds the two bouquets of colorful flowers. Both sides of the commode are decorated in a similar manner with a band of laurel vines and colorful bouquet of flowers in the center. The top is decorated with an olive-green painted edge and similar decorations of laurel bands and bouquets of colorful flowers.
