Mid 18th C Irish mahogany tallboy

About the Item

This wonderful mid 18th C Irish mahogany tallboy chest is of wonderful neat proportions. Lovely colour & condition & retaining all original brass escutcheon handles & steel locks. Made from the most wonderfull quality heavy dense figured mahogany. 8 graduated oak lined drawers supported on shaped bracket feet. The rear backboards are also made from oak which is a lovely sign of quality. Various similar examples of this model of slim tall Irish tallboy chest can be seen in the Irish furniture book by the ``knight of Glin & James Peill .
