About the Item

This most pleasing and rare small miniature apprentice type chest of drawers is beautifully handmade and veneered in burr walnut with a book matched top finished with a cross banded edge in straight grain walnut which matches the parting rails and sides. This super miniature chest stands on ogee bracket feet and has a configuration of three long graduated drawers with three small ones above. They are all fitted with handmade brass swan necked handles with oval brass escutcheon plates. The chest is made from a base timber of solid mahogany as are the drawers and their linings which are preciously made with hand nailed joints. This beautiful miniature chest dates to the late 19th century/ early 20th century and is in untouched condition with the original surfaces which show age, natural patination and a mellow warm colour.
