About the Item

Pair of 19th century carved Swedish painted chest of drawers circa 1880. Beautiful pair of swedish 3 drawer commodes, very much in the gustavian taste. Presented in a light warm blue, with contrasting grey top surfaces. Plain grey top surface with moulded edge and canted corners to the front. Top drawer with fluted detailing and applied moulding to the front, with is mirrored on each corner. A further 2 drawers of equal size below, with working locks and key. Each standing on 4 tapered legs. Later handles and escutheon plates. Later hand painted. Paint is now faded from use with minor losses, rubbing and surface marks. Drawers run smooth and true, ready for everyday use in multiple rooms around the home
