About the Item

A sensational and high quality pair of Italian early 18th century Rococo Period Burl Walnut, Fruitwood and Bronze commodes. Each impressive three drawer chest displays an exaggerated Bombee shape while raised on four scrolled legs flanking the scalloped apron. The two larger lower sans traverse (without crossbar) drawers are decorated with stunning foliate Bronze pulls and showcase the stunning wood grain continuing over both drawers. The drawers are also accented by an elegant scrolled inlaid Fruitwood frame which continues across both drawers, with foliate Bronze keyhole escutcheons at the center. The bombee shaped commode displays the same beautiful wood grain and scalloped Fruitwood inlays on each side panel. Above is an impressively concave drawer with a recessed front showcasing stunning foliate Bronze pulls to each side. The scalloped tops display the stunning Burl Walnut panels at the center before an inlaid Fruitwood border and outer Burl Walnut mottled edge.
