Rococo Style Bombé Chest of Four Drawers with Grey, Blue, Green & Beige Accents

About the Item

An American Bombé style painted wood chest. This American Bombé chest from the late 20th century is ornately decorated with a shell carving on the skirt and cartouche outline around the drawers and chest sides. This Bombay style chest features two small drawers over two larger drawers. This robust four-drawer chest has a nice curvy Silhouette which is raised upon four cabriole legs. The drawers are each adorned with Rococo style hardware. The skirt is scalloped on all three sides. This chest is primarily blue and green with a neutral beige accent trim.     A pair of painted wood chests from American furniture maker Kittinger Furniture. These vintage made-in-America chests each feature a rectangular-shaped top over a has which houses four graduated and dove-tailed drawers, set within canted and flute-carved front side posts. A petite beaded trim outlines the bottom perimeter of the chests, which are raised upon four bracket style feet, which give the otherwise linear skirt a bit of shape and interest. The upper drawers each have dividers for storage organization. Each drawer is fitted with its original heavy brass hardware pulls. The chests have a new custom pale blue finish, which still allows much of the wood grain to show through from beneath. This vintage pair of Kittinger chests (regarded by the White House as one of America's most foremost furniture makers) would make an excellent pair of bedroom dressers...
