About the Item

11-drawer William Savery Attributed Cherry Bonnet-Top High-Boy / Bureau, with Fine grained wood, Cabriole legs with fine barley twist finials. Attributed to William Savery, circa 1750s. This gem comes with a keyed locking drawers in great working condition. All drawers are dovetailed. Highboys first appeared in England. When they were transported to America, they became immensely popular. In the hands of American cabinetmakers, they were transformed: with their fine cabinetwork and lavish carving, highboys are perhaps the pinnacle of American furniture design. This piece is in good antique condition. Given its age, it has are a couple aging seams as pictured. The piece show no signs of past repairs. W6050322.
