About the Item

This antique French credenza, crafted from tiger oak, offers timeless style and functionality, making it an excellent choice for a secondary workspace in an office. Tiger oak, known for its distinctive wavy grain that resembles tiger stripes, is prominently featured throughout the piece, adding richness and character to its surface. The piece features a two-tiered design with a solid front adorned with paneled detailing on the lower section and an upper tier with four small drawers flanking an open central space. The lower portion, while closed at the front, is hollow in the back, making it ideal for placement against a wall. The tiger oak construction showcases a stunning grain pattern, adding depth and character. The intricate metal hardware on the drawers and the fluted corner accents highlight its craftsmanship. With a warm, aged patina that speaks to its history, this credenza is a functional and visually appealing addition to any home or professional office. Found in France, late 19th century. Handcrafted from tiger oak. All four drawers run smoothly. Original brass hardware at the drawer fronts. The writing surface shows some light staining. The lower right front portion of the piece has slightly faded (possibly from filtered sun exposure). A small hole has been discreetly cut in the lower back portion on the right side of the piece. Overall condition is consistent with age and use. Measures approximately 46.75” W x 25.75” D x 41.125” H (overall).
