Credenza / Sideboard w/ Tambour Doors Attributed to Arne Vodder, Denmark, 1960s
About the Item
Introducing an expansive Danish-made credenza that is audacious in scope, design and materials used this extraordinary Danish-made credenza is as functional as it is visually arresting. Constructed from a mix of solid and matchbook-veneered Burmese teak this striking sideboard is ideal for collectors and designers alike. Featuring fully functioning tambour doors, clever interior storage options and exceptional old-growth variegated woodgrains unique to the teak species this versatile piece in many ways represents the zenith of Danish Modern Design.
The devil is truly in the details in this piece. The tambour doors that roll seamlessly into the back, a rare technique that few can produce effectively, is pleasing to the eye and functionally ideal. The interior is beautifully finished, with rolling shelves on each side - perfect for media and stereo equipment - and a middle section with two pull-out box joint trays for added storage. To add extra detail to the design, the legs are pulled slightly under the sideboard to account for skirting, making it possible to place the piece close to the wall. With a finished-veneered back, it can also find great use as a room divider. Perhaps the best conditioned vintage Danish sideboard we've ever acquired, this exceptional credenza won't last long. Make it yours today before it's gone forever.
---Dimensions---
Width: 70.75 in / 179.71 cm
Depth: 19 in / 48.26 cm
Height: 31.75 in / 80.65 cm
This extraordinary credenza is in 100% original, vintage condition and has aged to perfection! The mix of solid and veneered Burmese teak is in remarkably excellent shape showing some minor surface scratches and nicks (the worst of which can be seen in the detail photos and natural light video provided) but showing no gouges or stains whatsoever.
Both drawers open and close with ease as does this exceptionally designed and crafted set of tambour doors. The two rolling shelves function with ease and are perfect for media equipment.
This elegant sideboard is ultra-functional, structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use. Please view all photos and video for details on this extraordinary sideboard's current condition. We're limited on the amount of media we can post so additional photos and videos are available upon request.
