About the Item
Wonderfuly streamlined Swedish Art Deco three-door sideboard/credenza designed by architect Carl Bergsten. Overall piuece is elm wood and Mahogany and inlaid with two widths of pewter striping. The credenza sits atop two front feet which carved abstracted lions in gold leaf. The back legs exist as simple Mahogany posts. There are three doors accross the front. Double doors on the left open to a compartment with two adjustable shelves (now missing), while the right door conceals two drawers. Made in Sweden, circa 1930. Measure: Height 28", length 71", depth 20.25". Some of Carl Bergsten works include the luxury ocean liner M/S Kungsholm, the Swedish Pavilion for the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in 1925, and the Liljevalchs Art Museum in Stockholm. Litle is written in English regarding this piece which existed as part of a furniture suite.I have included other images from the thirties collection. I could not find information on the quantity of these produced alongside the credenza. It is a practile piece. The locking device is keyed and finicky so credenza must be level in final resting spot. The piece may have contained Audio equipment as there are circular holes in the cabinets back.
There are three minor pieces of Mahogany veneer missing from the lower "bumper platform". and a minor stain and sun bleaching on the top surface.

Blackened Bronze & Blue/Black Lacquered "Behepoda" Art Piece Cocktail Table
By Dana Nicholson
Located in New York, NY
The table was in part influenced by Armand Albert Rateau and Eileen Gray. Their influence is evident in this complex piece of many art processes. Sketched while listening to Bjork’s song “Bachelorette”, (which has absolutely nothing to do with the show or dating), the table is dark and pays homage to the cephalopods of the deep and the corals near the surface, while octopus’ suckers or coral polyps break the surface. Comprised of custom cast and blacken bronze of great weight supporting an ultra-thin and hollow surface of a moonlit blue...
