About the Item

A double-bodied walnut sideboard made in the late 16th century, about 1580, in Tuscany. During in Renaissance, monumental forms and cut decoration were favored for furnishings. Typical of this period are lion's paw-shaped cabinet "feet" and hanging iron handles, as in this case. The base of the complex measures 112x193x65 cm, while the riser measures 69x167x43 cm. The total measurements of the sideboard are 181x193x65 cm. The cabinet features 6 doors and 3 drawers, and the interior is made of softwood. The state of preservation is good considering the era.
