About the Item

This large pine cabinet is a remarkable example of Swedish country craftsmanship and original folk art painting. The original stylized paint includes a traditional faux wood grain finish complemented by green door panels with floral motifs. The beautifully curved bonnet or crown is indicative of a Swedish wedding cabinet. Upper and lower cabinets open to reveal interior shelving and a brown painted interior. Distress from generations of use are seen in the finish, including scratches, nicks, old cracks, slight gaps seen in back, old repairs, etc. This cupboard has been restored so it is strong, stable and ready for use. All knicks, scratches, age-related separation of wood (including back) are a reflection of generations of use and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely cupboard. The upper cabinet doors is secure with key and old lock. An interior metal clip has been added to secure the lower door as the lock no longer functions. This large cabinet is built in sections allowing for easier transportation and installation. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed.
