Early 20th-Century Scriban in Chinese Lacquer
About the Item
This two-part scriban cabinet showcases an exquisite combination of cream and gold Chinese lacquer, representing exquisite Italian craftsmanship from the early 20th century. The lower section is equipped with a chest of drawers featuring five drawers arranged in four rows. Above it, there's a slanted writing desk, which opens with a fold-down flap as part of a secretary compartment. This section reveals ten small curved drawers and five niches, elegantly finished in a rich ox blood red colour.
The upper part features two doors adorned with intricate floral patterns and golden-hued characters set against a beige background. Inside the doors, you'll find equally captivating floral motifs, while the cabinet's interior is painted in a deep, lustrous red. The pediment of the secretary is beautifully embellished with two ornate volutes.
This piece not only boasts remarkable chinoiserie aesthetics but also offers practical functionality, making it a superb addition for enhancing the décor of a living room or an entrance area.
