Fine Victorian Inlaid Rosewood Davenport Desk Item Code: S27-705 A superb quality mid-19th century Victorian Davenport desk, beautifully crafted from richly figured rosewood and adorned with elegant marquetry inlay. This striking piece combines aesthetic appeal with practical storage, featuring a sloped writing surface that lifts to reveal a fitted interior, above a bank of four graduated drawers to one side, with corresponding dummy drawers to the reverse for symmetry. Delicate floral and scroll inlays enhance the classical form, while the elegant bracket supports and turned feet on castors complete the design. Key Features: * Rich rosewood construction with superb grain figuring * Sloped lift-top writing surface with internal compartments * Ornate marquetry and inlay decoration * Four graduated drawers with original turned brass knobs * Dummy drawers on reverse for visual balance * Raised gallery back and bracket supports * Standing on castors for ease of movement * A fine example of Victorian craftsmanship Dimensions: Width: 57 cm Depth: 56 cm Height: 93 cm
