About the Item

A pair of Italian brutalist commodes from the 1960s, distinguished by a striking interplay of visual and tactile contrasts. Each piece is the negative image of the other: where wood dominates one, polished brass takes center stage on the other. This dialogue between noble materials unfolds through a geometric collage of abstract shapes — inlaid or raised — like a mirrored puzzle. The facades are animated by sculptural forms — circles, trapezoids, rectangles, triangles — alternating between solid wood and gleaming brass, lending the ensemble a look that is both raw and refined. The design recalls elements of constructivist art and fine craftsmanship, expressed through a uniquely sculptural language. Though conceived as a complementary pair, each commode is available for purchase individually. Each one stands on its own as a statement piece, perfectly suited to eclectic or contemporary interiors. A rare object at the intersection of design and sculpture — ideal for discerning collectors and lovers of singular 20th-century pieces.
