Warren McArthur Rolling Bar Cart Rome Ny C, 1933/34
Located in Camden, ME
A Warren McArthur modernist rolling bar cart manufactured during the first years Warren was located in Rome, New York. The Warren McArthur Corporation moved from Los Angeles to Rome, New York in January of 1933. The label ending in "PATS APPLIED FOR" identifies the bar as being manufactured in Rome between 1933/34. The use of square half inch tubing for the rails bordering the shelves and the staggered count of one, two or three tubes is a well considered contrast to the one inch round tubing that comprises the main body of the bar frame. The inch and half rectangular U tube that forms the foundation tube of the bar cart gives the necessary strength as well as a strong rectilinear visual that lends a visual balance with the half inch rectangular tubing. The spacing of the three half round shelves...

Jorge Zalszupin tea cart L'Atelier Brazil 1959
Located in Roosendaal, Noord Brabant
This stunning trolley is probably the most iconic piece designed by Jorge Zalszupin and manufactured in his own company L’Atelier, Brazil 1959. The Carrinho de Chá or tea trolley originates from 1959 and is considered a timeless classic amongst collectors. The cart can be moved around freely and is built from various materials: a solid iron frame black painted, supports a large origami like bottom shelf. Another shelf sculpted out of solid jacaranda rosewood is placed on top and serves as a removable serving tray which can be used both sides. Two rather large but open brass wheels are placed at the bottom and are a great distinctive feature as the solid brass draws...

Italian Art Deco Bar Cabinet in Parchment with Inlays Signed by Anzani, 1930s
Located in Meda, MB
This bar cabinet was produced in Italy, in the late 1930s and is a really unique and special piece. Its tremendous historical and artistic value is what makes this item a real piece of art, hard to find and one of a kind. Firstly, let's talk about its history. It was produced most likely in 1939 in Mariano Comense which is a small village near Milan by the artist Giuseppe Anzani. Anzani has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest wood crafter and inlaid maker. He started his career as an engraver when he was a little child and he won awards for his skills when he was only 16. Later on, he started also to master the art of wood inlay, becoming the most skilled inlayer of all times. His fame was so big that people from all over the world used to come to his little laboratory in the small and unknown village...

Antique, New and Vintage Dry Bars

The name “dry bar” can be a bit of a misnomer. After all, the last thing you would want a bar to do is run dry. In this case, the “dry” descriptor in your antique or vintage dry bar doesn’t refer to a lack of drinks. Instead, it serves to differentiate dry-bar furniture from wet-bar installations. The latter is typically a permanent fixture in a home, requiring plumbing to support a built-in sink.

In short, a dry bar is a piece of furniture or tabletop area that you’ve built into your space for mixing cocktails and storing everything needed —bottles, barware and other accessories — for the intoxicating in-home bar you’ve designed.

Some dry bars were built with minimalism in mind. Those crafted by designers associated with mid-century modernism or Scandinvanian modern, for example, likely looked to these as practical furnishings to serve as a cabinet or case piece. But there have been decorative and even outwardly sculptural interpretations by Art Deco furniture makers and those working in the Hollywood Regency style over the years.

No matter what kind of antique, new or vintage dry bar fits your space, these versatile furnishings can definitely elevate your home bar area as well as your hosting. We’ll toast to that!

Find your dry bar as well as all the barware you need on 1stDibs.
