Blue Painted Oak Secretary, Sweden circa 1770-1800

About the Item

This oak secretary is a striking statement piece with panel doors and serpentine front to the lower three drawers. The entire secretary has been given a professional custom layered blue painted finish which has been gently distressed to reveal the original oak underneath, adding both dimension and character to this bureau. Please examine the photos to appreciate the beauty and texture of the lovely finish. The middle section (with contrasting dark gray painted interior) is the traditional desk which includes a multitude of petite drawers and sectioned storage which are revealed when the desk top is opened and rests on the two extending arm rests. There is no key/lock for the desk top. The upper section has 2 cabinet doors which opens to reveal shelving, two drawers and upper spoon rack. Key and lock work for upper cabinet. The lower large three drawers have two brass pulls on each. This blue painted secretary is restored, solid/stable and ready to be used. It is built in two sections allowing for easier transportation and installation. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age/use and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this striking secretary.
