Extremely Decorative Secretary Empire Style with Dummies Books

About the Item

Noble veneer on solid softwood. Rectangular body on chiseled bronze claw feet. Architecturally structured front with dummy and brass framed brass frames. Slightly conical pilasters on both sides, ending in chased bronze caryatids, and three drawers with brass setting and handles. Straight writing tablet with gold-embossed leather inlays, behind it richly structured secretary division with several drawers and open letterboxes. Green marble top cover with gray-white grain, below a wide drawer. Decorative, finely embossed applications with scenes from Greek mythology, pallets and rosettes. Beautiful patina, with shellac hand polish. ( L-GM-81 ).
