Louis XVI Period Right Secretary Signed CREPI 18th Century
About the Item
Secrétaire de Dame de forme rectangulaire en placage de satiné.
Il ouvre par un tiroir dans la partie supérieure, un abattant découvrant des casiers et des tiroirs et par deux vantaux dans la partie inférieure. La qualité d'assemblage des tiroirs est raffinée avec des bois employés de qualité et un assemblage en queue d'aronde très ajusté. La placage est en bois de satiné, matériau luxueux pour l'époque, souvent utilisé pour des meubles de qualité et très souvent estampillés, ce qui est le cas ici. Le satiné est un bois exotique à fond jaune et veines brunes-rouges. Une fois poli, il donne un lustre au reflet de satin dont il porte le nom.
Les montants avants sont à pans coupés, les montants arrières sont en ressaut. Les bronzes sont ceux d'origine, avec leur dorure d'époque.
Le dessus est en marbre blanc mouluré veiné de gris, il épouse gracieusement les contours du meuble.
Estampillé deux fois de "CREPI" pour François CRESPI, dit LE ROMAIN ( né 1744 et Maitre en 1778 ).
Fin de l'époque Louis XVI.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Les portes ainsi que l'abattant se ferment bien sans voilures , la serrure de l'abattant à double pennes fonctionne, celle des vantaux et de la trappe intérieure également. A noter d'infimes petites fissures qui traduisent les effets du temps.
