Antique Mahogany Georgian Style Sideboard With Lion Mask Pulls
About the Item
The cabinet with a shaped bow front top with satinwood banding and a fine brass open back support with urn form finials. With a long center burled apron drawer with satinwood banding and corner inlays with quarter sun rays. The knee hole opening below with string inlaid spandrels. Center and side supports with bell flower inlays flank the two large banded deep side drawers with burled oval panels, inlaid with quarter sun rays in the corners. All drawers with finely cast brass lion mask and ring pulls. Brass key holes, lacking a key. Raised on square tapering legs with fine string inlays.
L. 72", Depth 23 3/4", H. to the top 37 1/2", H. with brass back 50 1/2"
Condition: Please see detail photos. There are chips to top banding and small chips, some losses to finish, stable age cracks across side panels, right drawer does not close flush, loss to molding below left drawer. The sideboard would benefit from minor restoration and polishing however the way it stands now is authentic with an impressive presentation.
