19th Century French Louis XIV Carved Oak and Glass Display Cabinet from Normandy

About the Item

Bring charm and height to your display with this tall and narrow antique vitrine cabinet. Crafted in Normandy, France circa 1880 and built in two sections of solid oak, the elegant display cabinet features two glazed doors—upper and lower—framed by richly carved floral and scroll motifs in the Regence style. The top is crowned with a deeply molded cornice over a carved frieze, and the entire facade is detailed with hand-chiseled foliate accents and shaped molding. Inside, the upper and lower compartments are fitted with glass shelving, offering ample space to showcase fine porcelain, crystal, or collectibles. (One glass shelf in each cabinet, but could accommodate 3 or 4). The cabinet’s tall, slender silhouette makes it ideal for smaller spaces, while its glass panels on three sides ensure visibility from every angle. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, the vitrine boasts a warm walnut-toned patina and original working locks. Perfect for a hallway, study, or salon, this Louis XIV style display piece combines form and function with timeless elegance. Measures: 32"W x 21.5"D x 99"H.
