About the Item
Production palermitaine du début du XXe siècle, this impressive Empire-style vitrine is crafted from mahogany and elm burl, with refined bronze mounts. The structure features two paneled doors in the lower section, surmounted by two drawers and an upper glazed display section with mirrored back and brass framing.
The cabinet retains its original bronze hardware with elegant neoclassical motifs (some wear and minor losses consistent with age and use). The warm patina of the wood enhances its authenticity and historic character.
Provenance: Caffè Oreto, Piazza Marina, Palermo – an iconic early 20th-century Sicilian establishment.
