This is not merely a bed—it’s a cinematic icon of 1970s Italian modernism. Crafted by Verardo, this king-size set marries sculptural form with futuristic flair: its voluptuous headboard and coordinated nightstands are covered in sensuous red-orange suede and framed by chrome accents, with mirrored panels in warm gold tones that catch every flicker of light. The headboard conceals a built-in stereo system, 8-track player, telephone, ashtray, and lighting controls—transforming the bedroom into an immersive, multisensory environment. Originally designed to command attention, the bed radiates with presence. Its plush suede upholstery wraps around sinuous curves that sculpt the sides like luxury automotive design of the era. Chrome pulls echo the glittering mirrored surfaces, while the gold-toned mirrored plinth base anchors the design in glamour. Although the phone and 8-track are not in working order, the radio-tuner stereo performs beautifully. Elements of MCM, space-age and post-modern design coalesce. If that's not enough mind bending 70's magic for you, it also lights up. That's right, you can actually set the cinematic mood with with assorted types of light. We upgraded the vintage bulbs with LED, so the light is brighter, safer and more efficient. A panel of buttons allow you full control. Push one to illuminate the Lucite pedestals from inside. Click another to control the eyeball lights that are recessed inside the arch. The lights can be singular or combined. This ultra modern and super rare bed was Made by Verardo in Italy, circa 1970's.
