Antique Georgian Irish Mahogany Demi Lune Games Card or Tea Table George III

About the Item

A superb example of an Early Irish Mahogany Georgian Demi-lune Fold-over Games Table of outstanding museum quality. Made in Ireland during the last quarter of the Eighteenth Century. The double hinged surface panel opening to reveal a dark burgundy woven fabric playing surface lining which has been professionally re-done. Supported on four cabriole legs with typical Irish shell and scroll hand carved detailing, all ending on stylized ball and claw feet. Condition: Good condition for such an early piece with no losses, professionally re-polished. Measures: width: (at top) 31.5" (80cm). depth: (at top center) 15.5” (39.5cm). height: (entire) 29” (74cm). Location: Dublin City, Ireland.     An exceptionally rare Irish George III hand cut full lead crystal single tea caddy of rectangular outline with canted corners and outstanding quality, first quarter of the nineteenth century.     Stunning and extremely rare Georgian Irish Heavy Gauge hand cut crystal fruit bowl or centerpiece of traditional outline, of outstanding quality and condition. Circa 1800 - 1825. The unusual fan-cut decorative rim above a deep cut diamond pattern all-round body with a single ring stem socle, ending on a circular base with star cut pattern underneath. Made in Ireland in either Waterford or Belfast. This piece is unmarked, early pieces were not usually. *This piece is over quarter of an inch in thickness allover. Condition: Good condition for such an early piece of rare Irish glass. No inside clouding, wonderful evidence of age wear at base underneath, few flea bites to top rim, difficult to see.
