French 19th Century Napoleon III Period Ebony Ormolu and Giltwood Center Table

About the Item

An impressive French 19th century Napoleon III period Ebony, ormolu, and giltwood center table. The circular table is raised by an elegantly curved triangular support with cut corners and concave sides all above the original casters. The support displays a lovely wrap around beaded band that extends along the borders and impressive richly carved scrolled foliate giltwood reserves with charming finely detailed blooming flowers. The apron is adorned with striking pierced ormolu palmettes and superb rosettes flanked by elegant palmettes. Above is the French polished top showcasing the stunning Ebony finish.
