Exquisite English Georgian style tilt-top center table, occasional table, or dessert table featuring a Japonisme decorated lacquer finish of an idyllic Asian landscape. The table is crafted from rich mahogany with a tilt-top supported by a turned column ending with tripod legs and pad feet. The round top has a deep burgundy ground hand-painted with a parcel gilt serene Japanese scene. The mountain and river landscape is decorated with intricate paintwork of pagodas and trees. The scene is bordered by a painted frame of scrolled designs and signed by the artist on one side with a chop mark. Versatile table that can serve as a breakfast table or in an entry. Lovely aged patina and profile from an estate in Napa Valley, CA.
